A NEW DAY WITH ART

I envy the way some people come up with such wise or profound statements -- or find a way to convey something heartfelt. Picasso said "Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life." Yes, to go to my studio each day and be able to paint is like starting all over again. It doesn't matter if the day started off wrong, if I accidently put a red sock into a load of white clothes or if I woke up "on the wrong side of the bed." I go into my studio and am renewed. Each day is a fresh day to create and I don't have to think about "the outside world." Very useful if I've had a difficult day.

ANGELS & FAIRIES

Hi, can't believe we're already 3/4 of the way through March! My last post was introducing you to my art beginnings. Thought I'd post a few more photos of my angels and fairies (if I can figure out how to do this -- my earlier attempt did not work). When I paint fairies, they make me smile and feel happy. When I paint angels I feel all calm and peaceful. Wish I could really see angels, as I know many people do. Hope you enjoy this post.

Angels & Fairies

As a little girl, I was always drawing angels and fairies. I heard that some people could see angels and fairies -- but I couldn't. So I drew them, instead. The angels had long flowing blue dresses and of course, she had a wand with a star on top. Her large wings were see-through, and in my mind, she was beautiful.

The fairies, on the other hand, had short little whimsey dresses and their wings were tiny. I'll never forget, many years after I had already become an artist, a very precise literal man saw my angels and quite matter-of-factly told me, "The wings are too small and could never support the weight of the fairy to fly." I could not believe he took my fairies so seriously. My reply to him was , "Don't worry; they just flit around; so they're quite all right." That was a long time ago, and now I paint all kinds of SOULFUL ART, whether they are ABSTRACTS, LANDSCAPES, OR SPIRITUAL ART or SOULFUL HEARTS.
